Easter bunnies

Brandy and her crew drove up for the Easter weekend and we bought into the tradition of seasonal photo shoots at Neiman Marcus - when in Dallas! Here are some of my amateur pictures:

Cousins! We love having family "nearby"!

Bean and 'Do visit

As a serendipitous surprise, Bean trekked all the way back from Africa for a spring-time visit to the States. And we couldn't have been happier to play hosts for Easter weekend. 'Do flew in from the West Coast and it was our first housemate reunion since we moved to Dallas. It was so great to see them and a real treat. Except now I think Meg doesn't really believe me when I tell her Africa is really far away!

Egg-dyeing extravaganza!

Clubhouse

One of Meg's new favorite activities is building a clubhouse with Daddy. I have tried to build one in his stead and, let me tell you, she was underwhelmed. It is just a skill that I lack as a Mama, among others: pushing her obscenely high on the swings, carrying her on my shoulders, singing certain night-night lullabyes, and drawing dinosaurs, etc. There are just somethings that Daddys do better and I love it. Keep swinging and singing away, Daddy!

Easter Egg Hunt

... and many other activities. And it was all free. We had so much fun!

Green thumbs

Spring has sprung.

Broccoli and carrots seeds. Too bad the squirrels did a little night gardening and ate all of the carrot sprouts.

Fort Worth Zoo

We had a nice family day amidst the animals. We were there for a few hours and saw a ton. It was a great Saturday.

Um, what?!

Everyone warns you about Dallas summers but seriously? I thought we left this in Boston. I have to admit that it was fun while it lasted though ;)

Meg is helping dig out the car. Can you see her little blue spoon? Her heart is in the right place.

Mary Grace turned five!

Fancy-themed birthday bash. Meg loved it! She kept saying she wanted to go and be fancy.

Happy.

Gingerbread house building with the cousins and Nannie and Boppa. Meg was more into eating the building materials than their structural qualities. That's my girl.

Caught red-handed.

January in Texas!

January was a big month for the Morse family. We drove half way across the country (again!) to our newest adventure in the Lone Star State. Oh yes, Texas.

This is our new place in the Big D.

Meggie and Maggie - finally in the same time zone.

New hair do.

This is Meg helping us fill our organization boxes.

This is an "after" shot after I put away all her books and toys. Oh well, girlfriend was reading and I couldn't not let her.

Rest in Peace

With the close of 2009 comes the end of something great. During the year Andy's maternal grandparents both passed away, Nunny in July and Pop in December. Goodbye matriarch and patriarch you are definitely missed. We know you are looking down on us from that Memorial Stadium in the sky. Go Bears!

O Tannenbaum.

Our first Christmas tree, believe it or not. Meg had so much fun.

You gotta watch the whole thing... wait for it. It is worth it! Merry Christmas y'all.

Meghan Jane - up close and personal.

Silly photo. I am promise it was really windy, that is why my hair is huge!

Smile!

American gothic - serious pose.

Bona fide breakfast for dinner. (That's bacon instead of spaghetti.)

Jammies

Seriously, who could resist this face?

Touchdown

Every touchdown, or field goal, scored by our beloved Bears warrants a march around the couch singing "Our Sturdy Golden Bear." Lovey is in on it too.

Preschool

Me, Meg, and Ms. Joan. This was taken on the last day of Mommy & Me Preschool. She LOVED it. I can't wait to find another program for her in Texas.

"Goldfish, goldfish, what do you see..."

Gobble, gobble. Like millions before her, Meg loves glue, probably more than the coloring, which she adores.

New skillz

Leggie Meggie can now climb on the cars all by herself.

Daddy and Meg play date.

Ladders - make me nervous, but I am so proud of my little monkey!

Aquarium
