Rough & Tumble

We had a playgroup at our little playground at SFP to welcome moms and tots at the second Admitted Students Weekend. The first was held in early March and believe or don't but it was too chilly to hold the playgroup outside then.

Kim (Ella's mama) and dirty-faced Meg. This picture proves that she is tough - she took a digger from sitting up and then proceeded to keep playing dirty-face and all: no tears, no pouting, no fear.

Meg is cracking up...

Meg laughs it up while Daddy rips some paper. Apparently Meg thinks this is the funniest thing... ever!

Cape Cod getaway

Since Andy swore off ever going to the Cape in the summertime, we went for a family trip (and met up with some pals) for a long weekend. It was great! The weather was nice and the Cape Codiness was in full effect.

She officially rolled over

For those of you who know Meg, you know that she is a very contented baby. She doesn't seem to get worked up or frustrated that much. I think that these mellow traits of hers have delayed her from completing a bona fide roll-over... until now. On Saturday, April 19th, Meg was playing on her back one minute and the next she was on her belly. I did not actually witness the event but can logically deduce what happened. I am excited for all the roll-overs in her future for I know this is only the beginning...

This picture, doesn't have anything to do with Meg rolling over but I thought the post needed a pic. The photo is from our first playgroup held outside in the fickle spring sunshine.

Another "first"

While Daddy and Mama were grocery shopping for her party, Meg held a bottle by herself for the first time. Dado was lucky enough to catch the event with a photo. (Friday, April 11th.)

Our blessed babe!

Meghan Jane was baptized Saturday, April 12th at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Cambridge. The invocation of the Saints were Saints Mary and John (the roots of her name).

Seriously, could she get any cuter? The answer you are looking for is "no."

Meg and her Godfather - how sweet!

Speaking of sweets, the theme of the post-baptism bash was sweets for our sweet daughter! I made everything but the sheet cake, which says "God Bless Meghan"!

Baby entertainers

Oh, the unconditional love of grandparents! Andy and I came home to this scene: a bouncing knee, toys on each foot, and Bean jostling a rattle - but it worked! Meg was very entertained by her Dado and Bean and it seems like they were all smiles too!

Hilarious baby-tee

Although I would never have Meghan wear this shirt, I am still glad it exists. It gave me a good laugh when I saw it in the store. I don't think it would be appreciated in our upcoming visit to Oz.

Happy Birthday HBS!

2nd Tooth!!

On Saturday, April 5th Meg received her second visit from the Tooth Fairy! (While she is usually only credited with picking up teeth, she also is responsible for delivering them - just wanted to give credit where credit is due.) (Meg got her second bottom incisor.)

Six months old!!!!!!

In celebration of her six-month birthday, Meghan is practicing her new trick... sitting up!

Spring Break 2008 - revisited

New-to-Meg door swing. She didn't know what to make of it at first but once she realized she was in control, she loved it!

My friend Kim and I made the most of our week sans husbands in Boston. We retraced Paul Revere's footsteps on the Freedom Trail, ate gelatto, and wandered around Boston Commons. Our little girls came along for the ride in their matching baby carriers. In the photo above, Kim and I are on the wharf with our backs to the Boston Harbor. The spot was a very popular place for people to watch planes take off and land at Logan.

The famous lantern at the Old North Church - "One if by land, two if by sea."

While Andy was away he grew himself a 'stache in order to participate in his Section's mustache championship. The funny thing is that Andy and I were not terribly fond of it but as shown by Meg's genuine smile in the photo she didn't seem to mind one bit. I can only imagine/hope that she is smiling because she is delighted to see her Daddy after a week's absence, in spite of the mustahce, not because of it! (Follow up note: almost all of the men in Andy's Section participated in the "Championship" and let me tell you, there are some champion mustache growers in Section C! But once the laughing stopped I think most would agree that getting rid of the mustache was a treat in itself.)

Happy Easter Every-bunny!

The sun came out for the special day but it was still a bit chilly. That didn't stop Meg and me from wearing our Easter dresses.

Drooling at the thought of eating Easter candy some day... or drooling because she is teething... or maybe both! (The cardigan Meg is wearing was knit by her great-grandmother Nan for her Auntie Beanie almost 35 years ago.)

Easter pressie with room to grow - a pink Red Sox hat from the Mavers, who were so kind to have us for dinner and an egg hunt.
