Baby's baby

Meg's friend left her baby doll at our place for a day or two, but Meghan was very attentive in her friend's stead. She carried the baby around all day (most times in a head lock). Gave the baby kisses, fed her, pretended to change her diaper, etc. Very cute and she doesn't even have a baby of her own to practice on, perhaps it just comes naturally to her...

Killington, Vermont

We went to Vermont for a spring ski break in March. Andy skied with some buddies one day but it was terribly icy. Spring skiing on the East Coast, I guess. The next day we took a gondola up the mountain for a family lunch at the top.

She actually was not as easy to capture in pose as this post would suggest. She was a girl on the go with her backpack.


She looked so grown up. It is not even a real backpack, it's better, it's a cooler pack. Perfect for lunches for a toddler on the move.

I couldn't resist posting this picture. It reminds me of one of me when I was little. Nice touch with the dress-shirt and pants! Classic.

Dressed in Thirties' era duds for our Great Depression shindig, you know, because we turned 30... Too many "30" references for you to handle?

Getting into science and signing

Within the span of a week Meggie went to the New England Aquarium and the Museum of Science. She definitely had an affinity for the live animals at the aquarium (fish, penguins, turtles and jellyfish, to name the favs) over the poster-board science displays. But she also really enjoyed running around the MOS. It is such a big place that she was able to see dinosaur bones, a live owl, and an electricity exhibit all before nap time. She is signing so much now.


In developmental news, she can sign most of the things that pique her interest as of late: bird, fish, turtle, cooking, light, car, airplane, play, bath, bear, cat, baby, down, clean-up, all done, eat, milk, daddy, book, bug (that one is still a bit rough around the edges), cheese, cookie, apple, shoes, diaper, tree, lovey (sign for blanket), please, wait, night-night, cracker, music, hat, key... just to name a few!!! (Well, to be honest, to name most!) She can also say the words for most of the aforementioned signs. In summary, she is a delight and so fun to be around. We are very proud parents!

Happiness is...

... a sippy cup in hand and watching the snow fall with your best friend.

Meg now requires an eating utensil of some kind at almost every meal. Against all odds, she somehow gets a lot of food into her mouth.

Daddy and Meg's park day

Daddy and Meg went to the park together one January day in Southern California.

The first week in 2009 we paid a visit to our folks in Southern California. That cross-country flight is really a bear and getting a little more difficult each time. Meghan just doesn't like to sit still that long, who does? But the visit was well worth the flight. The weather was amazing and it was neat for Meg to play with her cousins.

Feliz Navidad!

The day after the snow pictures in the post below, we flew off for a week of yuletide cheer in sunny and pleasant Puerto Rico! We stayed in beautiful Old San Juan in a refurbished old convent (appropriately named El Convento) across the street from the Cathedral we went to on Christmas and blocks away from numerous historic sites, the mouth of the port, the Bacardi distillery (across the bay) and lots of shopping, mostly of the tchotchke variety. It was a wonderful trip and so neat to be there as one big, official, family (all the Morse boys are hitched now)!
